Schizophrenia & Psychosis Care

Respectful, steady care for psychotic disorders.

Hearing or seeing things others do not, holding beliefs that feel urgent and isolating, or finding it hard to organize thoughts can be frightening for the person living through it and for the people who love them. Our schizophrenia and psychosis care in Chicago is calm, respectful and long term, with families included whenever you want them to be.

What treatment includes

  • Comprehensive evaluation: We rule out medical causes and substance effects, and look at the full history before naming a diagnosis.
  • Antipsychotic medication management: We aim for the lowest effective dose and track side effects such as weight, metabolic changes and movement symptoms.
  • Relapse prevention: Together we identify early signs and agree on a plan for what to do if symptoms return.
  • Family and community support: We help families understand the illness and connect you with therapy, case management and community resources.

Signs it may be time to reach out

  • Hearing, seeing or sensing things others do not
  • Strong beliefs that others find hard to follow, or feeling watched or targeted
  • Withdrawing from friends, school or work, and losing interest in self care
  • Thoughts or speech that feel jumbled or hard to organize

Recovery is possible. Our job is to help you keep moving toward the life you want, with care that stays consistent.

Getting started

Your first visit is a full evaluation with one of our psychiatric nurse practitioners. We listen to your story, review your history and current symptoms, and agree on a plan you understand before you leave. Visits are available in Chicago and by secure telehealth anywhere in Illinois, and follow-up appointments keep the plan on track as things change.
