Sleep-Wake Disorder Treatment

Better nights, clearer days.

Poor sleep makes everything harder. It worsens mood, anxiety, focus and patience, and those same conditions in turn make sleep worse. We treat insomnia, irregular sleep schedules and the sleep problems that come with depression, anxiety, ADHD and trauma, in Chicago and by telehealth across Illinois.

Our approach to sleep

  • Finding the cause: We look at your schedule, habits, medications, mood and medical history to understand why sleep is breaking down.
  • Behavioral strategies first: Practical, CBT for insomnia informed techniques often work better and longer than pills alone.
  • Careful medication use: When medication helps, we choose options carefully and avoid habit forming choices where we can.
  • Referral when needed: If we suspect sleep apnea or another medical sleep disorder, we help you get the right testing.

Signs it may be time to reach out

  • Trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or waking far too early
  • A body clock that keeps drifting later than your life allows
  • Daytime fatigue, poor focus or irritability after a full night in bed
  • Relying on alcohol or over the counter aids to get to sleep

Most people can sleep better. We help you find out what is getting in the way and fix it step by step.

Getting started

Your first visit is a full evaluation with one of our psychiatric nurse practitioners. We listen to your story, review your history and current symptoms, and agree on a plan you understand before you leave. Visits are available in Chicago and by secure telehealth anywhere in Illinois, and follow-up appointments keep the plan on track as things change. You can request an appointment through our online booking page or call our office with any questions first.
