Anxiety and Depression Behavioral Therapy

Practical tools for worry, low mood and everything between.

Anxiety and depression often show up together: worry that will not switch off, low energy, poor sleep and a sense that things will not get better. Our behavioral therapy for anxiety and depression in Chicago gives you practical tools that work alongside medication, or on their own when that fits better.

What sessions focus on

  • Changing unhelpful thought patterns: Learning to notice and reframe the thoughts that keep worry and low mood going.
  • Behavioral activation: Small, planned steps that rebuild energy, motivation and interest in life.
  • Managing physical anxiety: Breathing, grounding and exposure based techniques for panic and avoidance.
  • Measuring progress: We track symptoms over time so you can see what is working.

Signs it may be time to reach out

  • Worry that is hard to control and gets in the way of sleep or work
  • Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Avoiding places, people or tasks because of anxiety
  • Feeling flat, tired or hopeless for two weeks or more

You do not have to wait until things get worse. Starting now can make the next months feel very different.

Getting started

Your first visit is a full evaluation with one of our psychiatric nurse practitioners. We listen to your story, review your history and current symptoms, and agree on a plan you understand before you leave. Visits are available in Chicago and by secure telehealth anywhere in Illinois, and follow-up appointments keep the plan on track as things change. You can request an appointment through our online booking page or call our office with any questions first.
